Have you ever been to a yoga dance party? I have, twice. Once at a yoga festival with MC Yogi, and once when I was teaching and suddenly it felt just right to stop flowing and just dance. It’s one of those things that, if forced, is incredibly awkward. But when it’s right, it’s so freeing!
Having freedom to move your body in a way that feels good is a right that belongs to all of us. Whether you want to dance, do yoga, run, stretch, whatever, it’s completely in your right to move based off of how you want to feel. I’ve been in the fitness industry for ten+ years and I’ve seen so many people trying to follow the “rules” of fitness. I think it’s time for you to set up your own rules.
Dance when it feels right
Do yoga because you love it
Run when you want to expand your lungs and clear your head
Rest when your body tells you to (even if you didn’t work out yesterday or the day before or the day before…)
Think less, feel more.
